Dr, John M. Cohn, a founding partner in DocuMentors,
has been Director of the Learning Resource Center, County
College of Morris, since 1978. He holds a Masters in Library Science degree from Pratt
Institute, New York, and B.A., M.A. and Ph.D degrees in Political Science from New York
University. He has taught at Pratt Institute and Hofstra University and, prior to CCM,
held positions at Queens Borough Public Library and the City University of New York.
Dr. Cohn has been active in the development of the statewide
library network in New Jersey and, most recently, began a term as a member of the Steering
Committee for VALE, the Virtual Academic
Library Environment in that state. Since 1981, he has worked as an Evaluator for the
Commission on Higher Educations Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools,
serving on accreditation teams in the northeast United States and Puerto Rico. Dr. Cohn
has been a presenter on technology planning and systems implementation at conferences in
the United States and South Africa.
Most recently, Dr. Cohn contributed to What
Else You Can Do with a Library Degree and co-authored Planning
for Integrated Systems and Technologies,
Writing
and Updating Technology Plans: A Guidebook with Sample Policies on CD-ROM, and Staffing the Modern Library.
His essay, Integrating Public and Technical Services:
Management Issues for Academic Libraries, appeared in the Greenwood Press
publication The
Smaller Academic Library.
Dr. Cohn is a member of the
American Library Association and several of its divisions, the Special Libraries
Association, and the New Jersey Library Association.
